Pretty good 24hr breakfast spot. They have other stuff but the breakfast is what draws people in. Had a 3 egg omelette that was tasty. Not a health food place so expect a little butter & grease.

I love me some breakfast food so, with that being said, I am one picky eater when it comes down to it. Since my relocation to OKC from the Los Angeles area I have been trying to find a breakfast place that gives off a homely type feel. You know that serves food that reminds ya of ya Grandma. Well, I fond that place in Beverly's. This place has the BEST pancakes so far to me in OKC. It's a considered a far distance from the house but I'm willing to gas up and make the drive for these melt in your month pancakes. Since I never dine alone (such an extrovert), I brought a friend along and she ordered a omellette which she said was good. Can't wait for the next visist, maybe I'll try the chicken, then you Yelpers will really see just how picky I am.....NO ONE CAN FRY CHICKEN LIKE MY GRANNY....there should be a Yelp page about her!!!

Loved the fried half of a chicken! The bread and fry to-order and it is delicious, hot, and crispy. The servers are nice, the price is low, and they are open all night. The restroom is not the cleanest and the overall decor needs some updating. But it's not divey-dirty and doesn't have the unpleasant musky funk or pre public smoking prohibition one might expect of a restaurant that has been in business since the 1950s. I'm not saying Beverly's will impress everyone, but it's longevity has to be due to impressing the right people in the right ways with their excellent and consistent food.

Oh so delicious!!! Its a "must go to" breakfast place in OKC... There was a long line when my friend and I got there.. We waited for about 30-40 minutes before we got a table and it was just the two of us! That just speaks for itself that how good this place is. I ordered three french toasts with a side of scrambled eggs and let me tell you, boy was it good! Now, I'm the I-hop gal who doesn't trust any other place because in my mind, no place can make better french toast than I-hop but I was impressed with this place. Their syrup that they gave us first time was straight up water. I don't know where that discrepancy happened but upon informing the waitress about it, she was apologetic and quick at replacing it with good syrup! My friend ordered original Pancakes and bacon and it was very delicious also. Their coffee was "oh so delicious" and its free refill. :) One last thing, its a family oriented place so definitely go there with your kids, and family.

Came here a few years ago while in town visiting and it was pretty much a disaster. Finally decided to check it out as a resident of this fine town and it was alot better experience. Still pretty slow getting food to the table but the server was a sweetheart and the food was edible. Not great but certainly not bad. I would go back.

Okay, let's be honest...the food is not really anything to write home about at all. In fact, I would give the food 3 stars or less. It's just a regular diner. And I have actually been to better diners. But it is open 24 hours and because of late work hours I love being able to go here after work with my coworkers! We have such a great time hanging out and talking. The servers know us and do a great job. One of my friends puts more cream in her mug than coffee so the servers grab extra creamers for her when they see her at the door. The servers just let us chill. I don't know, the food isn't great but I love the service. I never go for the food. I go to hang out with friends and to get good service.

Pretty disappointed after all the good stuff I've heard. They left a toothpick in my chopped steak, completely hidden from view. Didn't notice until it was in my mouth. I assume (hope) it was used for some reason other than picking teeth. Nothing else really matters; that's an epic fail.

While not really "A-Ok," I don't feel they deserve 2 stars. You know, they are what they are, a greasy spoon diner. You know what they have, greasy spoon stuff...breakfast all day, some burgers, sandwiches, fried chicken, etc. I got breakfast thing about 1 pm and think most of it had been cooked an hour before as everything was pretty cold, despite coming to me as soon as it was in the window. I will give the benefit of the doubt that it isn't always this bad, but I will not hesitate to lower the score if I go back and its just as bad. I just feel like I may have caught them after a big rush or something. The waitresses were very sweet and attentive!

  • Bobby M.

Was really looking forward to this place. BUT not impressed. Slow to almost no service. Greasy omelette. Greasy veggies and meat used to garnish the omelette. Had to flag down waitstaff for refills on water and tea. Doubt I'll go back. Too many other places to have b-fast.

This the worst place I've ever eaten! I sat there 45 minutes waiting on a bowl of chicken soup and a side salad. The silverware was extremely dirty and the floor is so slippery you have to brace yourself to walk. By the time I received my order there was a guy who came in at the same time who was paying for his food. The chicken noodle soup was terrible! How can you mess up soup? So I ordered a baked potato and it was cold and burned. This place is a disgrace! I have no idea how they have remained in business.

I was in the mood for some brunch type food and saw reviews about this place so I decided to give it a try. SO GLAD I DID! I had the Chicken and Waffles and OMG! The chicken was seasoned perfect, was juicy, and so hot I had to let it sit for a few minutes. The waffle was homemade (no bisquick mix) and delicious wjth the side of warm homemade syrup. The service is very attentive and I never had to ask for a refill! This is a MUST STOP IN OKC!

Sweet little ma and pop restaurant. Reuben Melt was delish. Banana pancakes are too. Die. For. Good for any meal!

I rarely give reviews like this--check out my other reviews and you'll see that I'm a positive person--but I have to warn anyone who is thinking of going here. DON'T. I was so disappointed. It wasn't just my food that was below average. My wife and my daughter were also very disappointed. My daughter's fruit looked like it was fresh............two weeks ago. I had something, either ash or mold, in my ice water (I'm thinking maybe they haven't cleaned the ice machine recently?). We were originally seated at a table that was supposed to be fastened to the wall, but wasn't, and it rocked like a ship in a hurricane. We got up and moved to another table. Now, I will say that our server was nice. Other than that, I was very frustrated with this trip. They need a lesson in cleanliness. They need to update their furniture. They need kitchen help. They need a lot of things. Do yourself a favor and go to Denny's or IHOP.

Had a disappointing breakfast that could have been so much more at a classic OKC joint. We ate a sober breakfast at Beverly's on a Monday morning, which, after reading a number of other reviews, puts us in the minority of diners who eat at Beverly's. We were seated in a large and comfy booth and approached very quickly by our server. I went with the chicken fried steak breakfast with biscuits and gravy and home fries. The steak is large and has a nice crispy breading. However, it wasn't seasoned, maybe at all. If you add some salt and pepper to this meat before breading it, and season the breading as well, you'd have a great chicken fry. But, without seasoning, it was disappointing. The home fries were standard, they were seasoned better than the steak, but still lacking. The eggs (which I got scrambled with cheddar cheese) were average, not great but certainly not the worst I've had. The biscuits were very disappointing. They were slightly colder than room temperature somehow, and were a little tough. I don't think they were made fresh that morning. Even with the gravy poured on, they remained too hard. The gravy was a great consistency, but it had, like the rest of the meal, a noticeable lack of seasoning. It needed a lot of pepper, which I added, but I shouldn't have to when I'm served pepper cream gravy in Oklahoma. I'd return to Beverly's, but I'll be prepared with the salt and pepper shakers...

What to say but these people can COOK. an OKC institution dating from the Great Depression (the present location from 2008), serving up middle American comfort food, delicious and very reasonably priced. They are most famous for their pancakes and fried chicken )made from a proprietary recipe that only two other places in North America make, one in Canada). It's a rather plain, family type restaurant where the wait staff calls everyone "hon" so don't go for ambience or formality. Do go for affordable, delicious fresh made food and a relaxing meal out.

Server never came back after we got our meals. When we got them one dish of pancakes was dry, cracked, and crunchy. The room temp butter on the tables didn't even melt on the other order of pancakes. Also got a kids meal, chicken leg with fries and hot roll. Fries were raw, and had no hot roll. With empty coffee cups and all, asked the hostess if the manager could come speak with us. She told us that our table server WAS the manager!! Not only slower and worse than the other servers around that we have had before and could see.... But also in charge of all the service! Who told us that the kids meal did not include a hot roll, and therefore had to point out that in print it says so on the menu. Will not be back again! Obviously, the owners of this place could care less of the operations, especially the busiest breakfast day of the week. Which makes me wonder how my food was prepared, kind of a scary thought!

Beverly's has been around forever and is the perfect 24 hour diner in OKC. Full menu all the time and friendly staff. The food is diner food; breakfast, burgers and fried chicken. It may not be a gourmet meal but it's perfect for when everything else is closed and you don't want fast food. Blueberry pancakes are so good. I've never been when it's daylight, but Beverly's is always a good time.

It just isn't that good. I can't imagine I'll go back. The service was fine, but the food just lacked something.

Fun fact: Beverly was a GUY not a girl. My beef with Oklahoma? There aren't enough places that open past 8:00pm for a late night dinner. Well, minus a buffet and fast food establishment. Diner food seemed appropriate that evening for some strange reason. That's right folks... I visited Beverly's completely SOBER and famished. Ordered the special Chicken In the Rough, of course. The dining room was empty so we didn't have to wait. Verdict? It's okay. The chicken skin was fried very well, had yummy flavor and was EXTREMELY hot- temperature wise. I burned my tongue! My side items were pretty forgetable. Mac & Cheese and side salad. They ran out of ranch dressing so that was a big bummer. I tried some of my partner's mashed potatoes and thought they were lacking salt. Our waitress accidentally gave my man white gravy instead of brown gravy. He was sort of kind of (not quite at stroke out mode ala Patrick) upset 'bout that. Maybe we wouldn't have been so picky if we were sauced? On the flip side, our waitress was super nice and very attentive :)

Nice large pancakes and waffles. I ordered the large ham as a side. It was some of the best country ham I've ever had. The pancakes were, well, ok... nice and large but nothing to write home about. But that ham is worth driving from Texas for...

  • Julianna H.

Pretty good. Dive. Eggs under cooked, bacon burned, hair on my food. The sausage was way yummy. But, yeah. 100% not coming back. It was a really cheap bill at least.

I eat here very often, because I work weird hours, and I like the food. I'm definitely a regular. The menu is really inventive for a 24 hour diner. Most of the menu is done really well, depending on which shift you visit, but a few of the menu items could use a little consistency. I suspect it's a training issue. Most all of the breakfast items are a good bet, and the portion sizes make the prices a good value. However, this place needs to shut down for 24 hours and deep clean. I'm really tired of seeing the same jelly stuck to the same places on the walls, feeling the same greasy floors under the tables, and smelling the same mild, but unmentionable smell in the restroom. All in all, it's a good place to eat. I bring people here regularly. The free wifi is a nice perk, and if I were still i college, this would be my coffee drinking while studying hangout.

Truly a disappointment. We stopped by after an evening at the mall. Breakfast seemed like a fun idea! Should have skipped it. The food wasn't horrible but our waitress, the service time and delivery were terrible. When the waitress comes to the table with an apologetic and apathetic manor, it is rarely a good result. We ended with food we didn't order, not the food we did order, toast that was dropped showed up as we were leaving. We won't be back.

I love how more than one person has mentioned (in so many words) that the reason they (Yelpers or my non-Yelper friends) ended up at Beverly's was because they were smashed and/or were trying to recover after a night of temulence.[1] I'm actually kind of surprised that the word "drunk" or "hungover" has not shown up on the review highlights... I don't drink. I do love to spend time with friends when they're drunk though (sometimes) because it's kind of entertaining, and it also serves as a reminder of why I choose not to drink. I've ended up at Beverly's a few times with friends (who were sloshed), and I've also ended up at Beverly's when no one in the party was drunk. Maybe it's the lack of ethanol, but I can't really think of anything that makes this place particularly amazing. The food is greasy as all get out. Is that a bad thing? Not really. It's unapologetically bad for you, and you're glad it's available. However, I don't think there's ever been a moment where I've thought, "I really want some Beverly's right now." My most recent visit, I was a bit disappointed when I got the chicken fried steak, because it was... Well it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was. It just was. Is this the place with the "famous" Chicken in the Rough? Maybe that will have to be the order of choice next time... Or it'll end up being breakfast food. Like pretty much always. [1]Note: Word of the day.

Love this place. Wonderful greasy spoon diner. We come here quite often. I've never gotten bad food from here. However, if CHRISTY is your waitress, move sections and ask for someone else. She is RUDE and was RUDE to my mother today, MOTHER'S DAY!

  • Meg W.

I would like to preface this review by saying that you don't go to Beverly's because they have amazing food. You go to Beverly's because you are sloshed and they are one of the few 24 hour restaurants that isn't ihop. That being said, Beverly's food is crappy and greasy but that is the kind of food I want when I'm wasted. I don't think I have ever been to Beverly's in the morning (when the sun is out). It is usually a 2:30 a.m. excursion and it is usually pretty damn busy by this time. Every time I come, I order the vegetarian skillet which always works well for me, plus it is a good finish to a long night of libations and it helps keep the next day more tolerable. If this weren't a 24 hour restaurant, it would probably be worthy of 2 stars. However, one upside to Beverly's is that it is actually a pretty good place to study because they have big tables and coffee. Plus you can stay all night if you want to. The service is crappy, the building (especially the restrooms) are pretty filthy and like I said, the food is not the best but Beverly's gets 3 stars because IDGAF about these things when I'm plastered.

Visited OKC and my mom and I wanted pancakes. Their blueberry pancakes are delicious. The waitresses are beyond sweet ! The workers are very fast ! I will be back next time I am in OKC!!!

I was really excited to try this place out since it was a different type of late-night joint. Meh.. I don't think I was drunk enough to enjoy this at all. I ordered their 'world famous, Chicken in the Rough".. and their Biscuits and Gravy. Bf got the breakfast items, and that's pretty standard. Well, since the chicken claims to be "world famous", I figured it'd taste really delish, but it was just regular (yet really dry) fried chicken. The rest of the food that we ordered were regular, but I probably wouldn't come back. The staff were friendly and tried to get us in and out as soon as possible, and I guess PROPS on dealing with the drunk kids.

I went to Beverlys at 1am after a late night of hanging at the bar. My party were sat immediately, as Beverly was at half capacity. Besides the cheap prices and the fact that they are open 24hours is likely the only reason they are still open, and people frequent this restaurant. I ordered the corn beef hash(7.99), which came with toast, and eggs. My corn beef was cold, and rubbery. I've tried corn beef once before, but I'm pretty sure that it's not supposed to be cold and rubbery. A friend ordered a skillet that included potatoes, sausage, and poached eggs, but received them over easy. When we were finally able to flag the waitress down, and request that poached eggs instead, she reaches across the table, and snatches the eggs, and just walks off. 30 minutes elaspe, and our waitress doesn't acknowledge us once, and my friend is eating super slow, waiting for her eggs. She was literally at the next table, setting up a table, slamming chairs, with a frown on her face, while we are trying to get her attention! She finally comes over, we request our checks, and our friends eggs. 15 minutes, she comes back with our checks, but no eggs. So, we all head to the counter to pay 15 minutes, and my friend asks about her eggs one more time. The waitress finally acknowledges that she never put them in, and still doesn't offer a discount, apology, or an egg. This was one of the only times that I refused to leave a tip. Next time I will be at Ol' trusty IHOP. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because of the low prices.

Beverly is decent. They are open 24 hours so great place for a late bite when everythimg else is closed. Waitstaff has always been friendly. I usually order breakfast when here, but a friend has tried some of their sandwhiches too. Would recommend for a late night/early morning bite.

I'll admit, the food was okay. The pancakes were very good. But not only do I enjoy good food but I like a good waitress. Our order was placed wrong, we had no refills on our coffee or water. And we wanted to replace sides and we got a look like we were making things complicated. Probably will not come back. I like jimmy eggs much more.

  • Allison G.

We walked in and were greeted by a waitress with attitude. We said we needed a copy of a kids menu and were told "we are out of the kids menus, they have to order off the adult menu." At this point we should have walked out but because we were starving, we chose to stay. The food was average but because of the bad attitude of the staff we will never go back. This place has gone downhill because we loved it in the past.

  • Edward J.

After the bars close this is the place to go to eat since they roll the sidewalks up in OKC after 1:45. Be patient, it gets crowded. It's not gourmet, but for what it is you're gonna be fine.

Renee Masoudy, the lady who runs this place, is an absolute joke. She does not take care of anything and is actually quite rude. If you call her, she will ignore your calls. If you text her, she will ignore your texts. She does not run a professional business, and I have often seen servers and cooks sneezing, coughing, and wiping their faces and returning to work (touching food and drinks) without washing their hands. I have even seen employees fight with other servers in the middle of the restaurant with no regard to the customers, and Renee will just let it happen.

Beverly's is a good old fashioned diner. You've got a lot of good comfort food available, and it's open 24 hours a day. I really can't speak about the lunch or dinner selections, because I always get breakfast. I usually end up getting an omelet with home fries and short stack of pancakes. The food is pretty good. The service I've gotten at Beverly's is usually pretty good, although it can get busy at times. Nothing here is sensational, really, but it's a pretty good alternative to late night dining if your tired of IHOP.

It was extremely busy when my group and I arrived around 2am for breakfast. There was no hostess and a ton of people were gathered around the front entrance. After about 20+ mins of standing around, a waitress finally came over and acknowledged us. It took an hour to get our food and it was not good. I could only taste the vegetable oil on my eggs, the sausages were dry, waffles were tasteless, and I didn't even get my bacon. Our waitress was MIA the whole time. It took over 30 minutes to get our bills paid and that was only because someone from our group took the checks to the register. He even had to stand there for 10 mins before someone would come over and ring him up. Do they not want our money??! There were waitresses just standing around talking to each other. This restaurant does not know how to handle a large crowd at all. I've been to IHOP many times and have had long wait times but it never took an hour to get our food and it tasted a lot better there. One positive thing about Beverly's is that they had cheap prices to go with their cheap food quality.

First off all the stars are for the food. The food was really good. I had chicken and waffles at 2 in the morning. The price was for food was good as well. Cheaper than chicken and waffles at any other place I have been. Now to the bad part. We were sat in a hurry at a dirty table. We sat at the table for 10 minutes before I went and asked where are waiter was. During this time other tables being sat after us were being helped. Once we our waitress did get there she was very rushed and rough. Not attentive what so ever. Basically throwing are plates down once they arrived. I when we needed extra syrup or condiments she was no where to be found. Service was not good to say the least. My recommendation on this place is if you are out late night and in north okc it is worth a try. If you want chicken and waffles it is definitely worth a shot. If you want good service go else where.

I really wanted to love Beverly's. The food while abundant, reminded me of something I'd eat at camp. Cold, and rubbery. The service is spread too thin to be of any help on Saturday a.m. - you know when most folks are out for pancakes. Sadly the house of international pancakes gets more stars than this "Pancake House" We were super hungry, like hangry hungry and still left with the majority of our food on the plates. The coffee is blech! Oh well.

  • Sheri G.

This is not gourmet, but is it nearly as cheap as fast food and so much better. And it's fast, too! My kids and I often eat here on nights when they have a school concert or event and we don't want to trek all the way home for dinner. We sit at the old-fashioned counter and they love that! They always let me modify dishes and even give me ideas on how to modify things. Love that! Kid's menu is simple and super-cheap. (A mickey mouse pancake for $1.25 the size of a whole plate!) Portions are enormous and I often split entrees with no fuss. Last night I got a veggie skillet, gave my pancakes to my daughter and still took half of my skillet home for leftovers. We always eat from the 5:30 to 6:30 weeknight time frame and service, no matter who is working is zippy and friendly.

Good food/service. Open 24 hours as well, what more could you ask for?! I prefer this place over Classen Grill. CG has gone downhill.

If you can get past the overwhelming air freshener aroma, the completely random soundtrack, and the depressing atmosphere (somehow the place seems twice as old and rundown as the building it's located in), you'll get a fairly tasty meal as long as you stick with something sweet, fatty and/or fried.

    (2)
  • Shelly D.

I had the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The gravy was not home made but for the price the food was ok. The place was clean and the waitress was quick and personable. It's a comfortable place with diner food and it's open 24 hours.

This place was just next to the Marriott Hotel i stayed in. So, while the partner doing the 12hrs Ironman race, I decided to stop by for breakfast alone. Its on Saturday about 10.30am and its packed. I sat at the counter, looking at all the wait staff running around and the cooks doing their work, remind me of Waffle House, which I thought - crowds + Waffle House-esque = GOOD Breakfast! Well... I ordered 2 scrambled eggs, 2 bacon strips (ordered crispy), 2 sausage link with hash browns & 3 small pancakes. The bacon was NOT crispy, the sausage link were bland & dont even come close to one I ate at Marriott's breakfast buffet, the hash brown was just eh BUT the pancake were GOOD! Oh, my coffee cup, has a lipstick stain I decided to turn it around and sip on the other side until another sweet enough waitress saw it and changed the cup for me, such a darling! As for MY waitress, she is too busy in her own world and quite apologetic when she accidentally knocked down my glass of water but still i gave her 25% tips! In fact, I suggested to go back the same evening as the partner need some heavy, fatty food such as burgers after the 12hrs race and i was in the mood for chicken fried steak but alas, they dont serve alcohol, so we left... So, didnt get the chance to try their burger nor fried steak, but for breakfast, this place can be a MISS, however, if you up for a decent pancake, then check this place out though if you want to have an overall breakfast with pancakes, then go for Denny's Grand Slam instead!

When there is a line in front of the door its a sign of a good restaurant. The pan cake is very good, the waitress chased us to our car to hand us the doggie bag that we forgot there, so that the service is good too.

Late last night some friends and I wanted breakfast food. the IHOP that was close to us is usually really gross so we went to Bev's (as we local college students call it). I havent eaten here in two years which is really sad... I've gone in for coffee (there coffee isn't great...) but not to eat. The food is pretty cheap and I really thought it was good. I liked the pancakes a lot! It was all really good and I was impressed with the portion sizes for the $6 I paid for two eggs, two (not really two though it was like 3 pieces) of bacon, 3 pancakes, and hashbrowns. I was able to take half of it home to save for later. Our waitress was nice too and she was pretty receptive of our needs. My friends all liked what they got to. So four stars it is. One star docked for the coffee.

Put it this way, I will never eat another pancake from IHOP again. I had the best pancakes this morning, along with a fried egg and two crispy slices of bacon. The service was great as all the staff were very personable. I found a kindred soul who needs to have her Starbucks in the morning or she may turn into a demon like me. Tone, please try not to spill the Starbucks coffee! I cannot wait to visit the OKC again to for pancakes, next time I will come for dinner and eat the Chicken in the Rough.

I've eaten here twice. The first time it was the middle of the night, and I was drunk, so of course it was good because I got breakfast. When I ate here a couple days ago for dinner, I got the chicken strips. They were seriously the best chicken strips I've eaten in months, if not years. The fries were fresh cut and a little soggy, but the fried okra was perfect. Our waiter, Tone (with a long E), was very friendly; in fact, he had mine and two other tables cracking up with his encyclopedic knowledge of their dessert selection. My GF had an omelette, which she said was great, and their chocolate chip pancakes hit the spot. I eat dinner here whenever I crave home cookin'. Their fried catfish dinner is awesome, and you get a lot for your money.

I used to eat at Beverly's regularly when they were across from Penn Square Mall. The Chicken in the Rough was oneof my favorites, served with a biscuit and honey always needed a side, usually of fries. The pancake sandwiches are also good. Service was fast and friendly, and it was very much a small diner atmosphere. I loved going there with friends. The food was pretty much diner-food - slightly greasy, served homestyle, but filling and hot. Waitresses from other stations would come and chat if things were slow on their side, and you could rely on them covering for one another when things got busy. I'd leave big tips. Then the land they were on was bought and they had to move. They didn't move far, just west a few blocks on the same street, and the food was still good, but the service - let's just say that after eating at Beverly's for nigh on to 20 years, I won't be back. The hostess was the only decent employee there. All the old crew was gone and it was all new staff. The hostess seated us quickly, but she chose to seat us in a station where the waitress was a no-show. None of the other waitresses covered for her. After waiting 30 minutes (hey - Beverly's was one my favorite places, I was willing to give them a break), I asked the hostess if anyone would be by to take our order. That's when we found out there was no waitress for our table. We weren't moved to a table where someone was working. The hostess left us there and told us someone would be by shortly. Not to go into excruciating detail, but the way the waitress treated us when she finally did show up, and the way the cashier treated us - well, no one deserves to be treated that way. Beverly's only had their friendly waitstaff going for them, because the food isn't all that much. With the waitstaff being deliberately and maliciously rude, well, they've lost this long time customer and all my friends.

I have eaten there several times and have never had bad service or bad food. They have the best blueberry pancakes in town, hands down. The waitresses are cute grandma types that love to chit chat with you and tell kid stories or ex husband stories. They work hard and are super down to earth and cool.

The sewage smell from the bathrooms wafts through the entire restaurant. Old, filthy carpet. There were wet rags piled on the floor near the counter. A large black thing lurked in the bottom of one of our water glasses. This place would be closed down immediately if a health inspector were to venture inside. And it should go without saying that the food and service was terrible. Yes, I did eat the food... shame on me. This place wouldn't even be excusable if you were wasted. Nasty...

Nothing extraordinary and unfortunately nothing ordinary about this breakfast. The coffee was flavorless, service was slow and the pancakes were forgettable. Keep searching.

Quick update, gave it another shot (I'm a sucker for punishment) and it was... better. Food was fine, but it was still crazy busy, and not at all like my old beverly's. Maybe they keep improving, but I'm not 100% sold yet.

Don't believe the other reviews. This place is awesome. The new location doesn't have the character of their last location, but it is rapidly getting better with the improved decor (especially like the old vintage pitctures from other long gone Chicken-in-the-rough locations. Food is awesome. I always get the same thing. A cup of navy bean soup (2nd best in town, the best is at The Lunch Box in downtown OKC) followed by a basket of chicken in the rough (I always get the half chicken, with fries and a roll). The chicken is amazing. Perfectly fried, as good as my mama's before my Mama decided to quit frying stuff for stupid health reasons. The fries are fresh cut and absolutely perfect. The roll is nothing special, but everything else is so good you don't care. Service is normally good. Some visits are medicore but this time the waitress was awesome. She probably filled my coffee cup for warmups at least 15 times in one visit. Highly recommend this place. One thing though, the chicken takes longer to cook so order something else first to hold your appetite over (i.e. like the navy bean soup)

Our first time here--we are big breakfast/brunch ppl and frequent First Watch, Jimmy's Egg and love trying new places. We thought this was a hole-in-the wall type of greasy spoon and crowds gathering suggested a great place. Well, the food was mediocre (price was right though) and service was subpar, in fact the waitress was even borderline rude (minimal tip was left)...not the best atmosphere either, won't be going back.

I've eaten here several times for breakfast in the past couple of years and the food was good, and they were very busy. I ate dinner there tonight, and it was just about the worst meal I have ever had. Service was very poor. Food was worse. I am afraid to even try them again for breakfast. At the moment, I don't think I would ever go back there. update: I've had a week to think over this dining experience. I have to say, even a week later, even remembering the meal nauseates me. Yes, it was that bad.

The food here was what you would expect from a small diner. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it wasn't bad either. For the price, you get what you paid for. The service was about average as well. If you just want some cheap eats that isn't a fast food restaurant, it's alright. Otherwise, I recommend that you go somewhere else.

This place *used to be* the best. When it was on the corner across the mall and only open for breakfast/lunch. Now since moving, the place went down hill very fast. The odds of getting good food and good service are very slim, to probably none. The owner's husband is a loaf and they are always understaffed. If you go on a weekend morning, you will see the owner and she does keep a tight ship, but any other time, it's a tough call. Barely a half step up from IHOP. I'm giving them a step up from IHOP because I at least haven't found a hair in my food yet. There are much better cafe's like Jeff's or Mama Lou's (on SE 30th). Both have better desserts and Mama Lou's is open 24/7.

Thus used to be one of my favorite places to eat breakfast food. It wasn't very good this time. Had the chicken and waffles and the chicken was gross. It took 40 min for our order to get to our table and multiple other tables that arrived after I did ate and left before I got my food. The waitress was great with refills and checking in, but it took too long and this food wasn't worth the wait. I'll just go to iHop next time.

I have never been here before and I had heard good things so me and my girlfriend went and checked it out this morning. I was not overly impressed. I got the chicken and waffles which at 930 might seem silly but it sounded good to me. It was not very good. The waffle was fine. Big and fluffy and all that. The chicken was hot--temperature wise and dry, which might be what you're looking for in a desert, but not in fried chicken. I am guessing it had been microwaved. I would probably go back but I kinda doubt it. The crowd wasn't annoying except for the child behind me screaming CHICKEN! at the top of his lungs. The service was good. It cost too much for what we got. In closing, shoulder shrug for Bev's. Still haven't found a place in OKC with good fried chicken.

Dropped by for brunch with my sister on a weekday morning. We were seated and served extremely quickly with great coffee! Our server was so accommodating, warm and friendly. Our portions were huge (corned beef and hash plate & a veggie/sausage skillet dish and were seasoned perfectly. Would definitely love to come back if I'm ever in OKC again!

I've been going here since college. It's has great, reasonably priced breakfast at any time of the day or night. The staff is always very friendly. The menu is a great size and has something for everyone. No frills, no fuss, laid back atmosphere.

I kept thinking of that food show on TV called Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. This place is like that. I liked it. I think I'll go back. They have an extensive menu and I'd like to try a few more of their offerings. I would have rated a 4 but I thought their overall quality and cleanliness could be better. Good staff. Hard working and customer focused. But they are towards the low end of the restaurant worker spectrum if you know what I mean.

Since I left Atlanta, I've been looking for somewhere with a breakfast skillet that compared to J Christopher's - my all time favorite breakfast place. Beverly's is a bit different. It is about twice the size, comes with bacon, sausage, and ham, as well as diced onions, green bell pepper, tomatoes, and large chunks of home fries - all topped with cheddar cheese. I added a bit a gravy for good measure too! The potatos were fresh and the best home fries I have ever had. They had a crisp outside and a firm inside. Not mushy at all. They load it up with much more meat than I am used to and have more ingedients, all added in balanced amount. I was a bit disappointed in the gravy. It is a milk gravy and you can still taste the flour base which is usually masked more by pepper, sausage, or by some other way I have never heard of. The corn beef hash is amazing as well. Nice and fresh with a stong corn beef flavor. I added time chalulla to cut the flavor to my taste and it was fantastic! Beverly's is among my top 3 favorite diner's for breakfast. Too bad I'll have to go home to Texas soon. :(

Our diner experience was something like this: Ah shit we don't want to drive 4 hours yet. We can't find anything to eat. Oh my God that place has pancakes in the title, let's go use their bathroom and eat things. We are drunk. Hi, let's get skillets of food with eggs and stuff. Sorry that we are very loud. Better get us some coffee, what could go wrong. My veggie skillet was just right. Tore that thing up.

Two eggs over easy were over cooked; sausage patties were waaay too greasy and had no flavor; cold biscuit and bland gravy. SOOOO disappointing! New location is a huge disappointment, as well. No personality. Great wait staff, however.

I would think that a location near a big hospital would warrant some quality but I guess they are surviving being very subpar. I ordered the eggs Benedict and I feel like a 10 year old could have made a better dish. The ham was probably some precut deli meat they buy and the hollandaise sauce was disgusting. It had a consistency that was too viscous and lumpy. Someone should have paid me to eat here, not the other way around. The ambiance and staff, old and scary looking (sorry).

Breakfast was good, prices were not bad. Overall it was a nice experience, waitress was very polite. It was extremely busy on Saturday morning. We will be going back again the omelette was very good, recommend, if your Epicurion Chuck stay away no square plates or bird seed with the mystery sauce with the rag weed garnish at this establishment.

I've been to a ton of restaurants and Beverly's sucks with the best of them. #1 When we were seated it took our waitress about 17 minutes to take our orders. #2 once our orders were places it took another 20+ minutes to receive our food. #3 our food wasn't ready at the same time which caused my food to be warm while some of my friends food was hot. #4 there was a long hair in my syrup. #5 the food was extremely bland, so yeah Beverly's can suck a golf ball thru a garden hose

This spot is a favorite amongst me and my college friends for basically two reasons: its open 24-hours, and most of their menu is cheap. Don't expect the best food you've ever had, but I've never had a horrible plate. I usually go the breakfast food route. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. They have a wider menu than just this but I always feel like a stack of pancakes when we stop by "Bev's" at midnight. And yes, I almost always regret filling up on pancakes late at night. I'm almost always here with a big group, and they do pretty well at accommodating us. They will push together however many tables we need and do a good job keeping up with us. People come here a lot to study, and depending on the time of day its a pretty good study environment. Just don't have super high expectations and you'll be fine :)

If you're looking for a super healthy breakfast selection you're not only in the wrong restaurant but the wrong state as well!!! That being said, this is another one of those hidden independent restaurants, that are rapidly disappearing along side our roadways. We had standard breakfast fare, bacon and eggs and a fruit plate and split them all. Toast was actually toast and not warm bread, a big plus in my book. Little things say the most about a place. As always on week-end mornings, earlier is better, but if you are alone or just two, you can sit at the counter with less of a wait. Do n't know why people are complaining about the hours, they're open 24 hours a day, except on the big holidays....in spite if the big crowd, the food came out of the kitchen (which you can see, rare in this day and age) as ordered and quite quickly. Bacon was too salty for my taste, but good bacon is hard to come by at this price point to-day. Super friendly wait staff.

If you can get past the overwhelming air freshener aroma, the completely random soundtrack, and the depressing atmosphere (somehow the place seems twice as old and rundown as the building it's located in), you'll get a fairly tasty meal as long as you stick with something sweet, fatty and/or fried.

Oh well.

Pretty good 24hr breakfast spot. They have other stuff but the breakfast is what draws people in. Had a 3 egg omelette that was tasty. Not a health food place so expect a little butter & grease.

Came here a few years ago while in town visiting and it was pretty much a disaster. Finally decided to check it out as a resident of this fine town and it was alot better experience. Still pretty slow getting food to the table but the server was a sweetheart and the food was edible. Not great but certainly not bad. I would go back.

I had the biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The gravy was not home made but for the price the food was ok. The place was clean and the waitress was quick and personable. It's a comfortable place with diner food and it's open 24 hours.

  • John-Paul M.

After the bars close this is the place to go to eat since they roll the sidewalks up in OKC after 1:45. Be patient, it gets crowded. It's not gourmet, but for what it is you're gonna be fine.

I have eaten there several times and have never had bad service or bad food. They have the best blueberry pancakes in town, hands down. The waitresses are cute grandma types that love to chit chat with you and tell kid stories or ex husband stories. They work hard and are super down to earth and cool.

Nasty...

Quick update, gave it another shot (I'm a sucker for punishment) and it was... better. Food was fine, but it was still crazy busy, and not at all like my old beverly's. Maybe they keep improving, but I'm not 100% sold yet.
